The Paper Campaign
Voices for Animals, in part of a successful national campaign, is working to reduce paper consumption and stop deforestation through getting catalog companies to make their catalog production methods more environmentally sustainable. Victoria's Dirty Secret
For two years Voices for Animals worked on a local level on an organized international campaign to reform Victoria's Secret's environmentally destructive catalog industry practices, urging them to increase the amount of recycled paper used in their catalogs and to stop logging in endangered forests. In December of 2006, Victoria's Secret announced that they were adopting more sustainable paper production methods, successfully ending the campaign.
No Big Cats in Conneaut Lake Park
In the summer of 2005, Voices for Animals successfully opposed Conneaut Lake Park's plans to have a big cat entertainment show. After holding the cats for almost a year Conneaut Lake Park decided to remove the cats from their property and cancel the show for a number of reasons.
Removal of Whole Foods Lobster Tanks
In the fall of 2004, Voices for Animals asked that Whole Foods remove all lobster tanks from their Pittsburgh location due to the ultimate fate of the lobsters and the poor environment of the tanks. In June of 2006 Whole Foods removed live lobster tanks from all of their stores because of pressure from both national and local groups, such as VFA.
